Philippians 1:3 – “I thank my God every time I remember you.”
Dear Piper,
You’ve spent your entire lifetime being in a hurry. Being born in just 20 minutes, walking early, potty training early, waiting impatiently to be a grown up … and now, you are 5. There is no one in the world more in love with being 5 than you.
Yesterday, you asked me if your tennis shoes would still fit today. You expected to grow overnight. This morning, you asked your dad if he thought that today you might be able to read. You expected it to magically happen while you slept. All of this, because today is very special to you … you’re finally 5.
There has never been a more hilarious little girl than Piper! The things you say, the funny faces you make, and your dramatic disposition keep me on my toes. They make life fun. YOU make life fun for our entire family.
I love so many things about your little personality, but most of all – I love that you are a friend. You are a lover – compassionate, kindhearted, and loyal. You speak your mind to those that mistreat the ones you love; you are gentle to those who are hurting. The world needs a girl like you and when we pray that we will “be a friend to someone who needs a friend,” I know that you are the answer to someone’s prayer.
I hope that being 5 is all that YOU hope it will be. I can only imagine what you will accomplish this year! Whatever it is, it will be done with a smile and with grandeur!
What a precious, precious child you are to me!
I love you, PunkyGirl!
Mommy

That’s beautiful, Steph. She’ll love it even more when she’s 25. 🙂
