School supply time is now! Classes are starting soon and if you haven’t already gotten your supplies in order, you better hurry!
There are two options for school supplies these days: buy them 1 by 1 or purchase the packs. I have done it both ways.
This year, I decided to purchase supplies 1 by 1. I absolutely loved the process of going to the store and loading up the cart. I purchased what we needed at Wal-Mart. I went around 10pm, because I know that they stock the shelves late at night. Sure enough, they had everything that I needed with the exception of file tabs and construction paper. All in all, I spent about $80 and bought all brand name items. I did use a few coupons €“ they were from the posts that I did on August 4 and July 28.
The other option that has become popular is school supply packs. There is a company called EPI and they connect with individual schools to provide packs specific to each grade. It’s a one stop shop. All the items are shrink-wrapped and very convenient. The PTA at our school has sold them each year, but this year – for the first time – I have seen them available at Walgreens and Kroger. They were marked at the same price as what our school offered them, so they are a decent value and you certainly can’t beat the ease.
I also want to add that this is a great chance to get office supplies at a discounted rate for your business. Post-It notes, pens, dry erase markers, binders, dividers €“ think about what you use at work and stock up now!
€¦ and remember, there’s no cents in paying full price! Anything you buy over this great tax-free weekend can be paired with a coupon. Store sales coupled with coupons and no tax can equal a great savings!
