I love when Becky Higgins releases new items for Project Life. It’s like Christmas and it makes my heart skip a little beat as I anticipate when she might have in store for her faithful followers fans.
I seriously think that there will be no more Project Life updates after this week. I can not imagine how she could add any more items to her collection. She has tapped out on the creative scale, surely!
To start in on Becky’s now 110 page catalog is inspiring, but can be a bit overwhelming if you are just starting out. I love that she still states and has a page that promotes “these are the 4 items you need … all else is fluff.” There is also a section on her website now devoted to those just starting out! Love that.

Here are my quick takeaways from the week of new product reveals:
1. In case you didn’t know, Project Life is now available at a ton of retail stores, as well as remaining on Amazon. Online, there is a full list of retailers that carry Project Life, but know that they include Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and Archivers. (You can use your weekly store coupons for additional savings!)
2. Mini Kits: these are little boxes that hold 100 cards (in both 3×4 and 4×6 sizes). They are designed to either go into a Project Life Mini Album or supplement whatever you’re doing with a full-sized 12×12 Project Life album. A few months back, Mambi released Pocket Pages which is similar to a mini kit without the scrapbook. I bought a few of them to play around with and I fell in love. Now, Becky has struck back and has released a ton of mini kits. She has even got some super specialized ones that are coming our way.
As much as I love Christmas and holiday time, I’m stocking up on the two Christmas themed kits first. I’ve never seen anything that I thought could do justice to our Christmas photos, so I haven’t scrapped them at all. I was waiting for the right product(s) and now I’ve found them!

There are also some great faith-based designs. The graphic quality is fabulous, not cheesy like most that I’ve seen before. If you are a member of the LDS church, you will absolutely swoon over these!
3. Themed Cards: There are 36 of these little babies to get you fired up! It’s kind of like a custom kit. I’ve been using these types of cards more and more and I’m thrilled that Becky has developed a full line. These will hit stores in September. (The sets include 8 4×6 cards and 32 3×4 cards. Definitely enough to do an entire project or to use as needed for individual pages!)
I’m going with 3 sets to start €“ School, Soccer, and Tennis.
4. Plastics: Ok, this is where I started to get WAY overwhelmed. There are now so so many choices.
Here’s the plus €“ if you are an Instagram user, now there are plastics for your square photos. Lots and lots of choices, and even some great ways to integrate square and rectangle prints. For me, personally, I don’t print square photos (although I LOVE instagram), so for me, I’m going to go with the more traditional route.
Becky didn’t forget those of us that want to stick with normal prints. The new plastics weren’t just catered to the square population. I am excited about adding plastics W, X, Y, and Z (now known as Small Variety Pack 6).
As you can see, this is a line of plastics that uses the traditional 4×6 and 3×4 photos – vertical and horizontal. I’ll use a lot of these for school, dance and sports scrapbooking. Now that these are sold in retail locations (or will be sold), I’ll just buy one box at a time since each box contains 3 sheets of each. If I find that I use more than another, I’ll order that particular style on it’s own.
If traditional scrapbooking makes you squirm and you don’t want the burden of buying paper and scissors and adhesive and the like, then you have to try Becky Higgin’s product line. You really do just have to slide the photos in.
I have a project where I’m integrating traditional scrapbooking with speciality plastics. I’m about 95% done and can’t wait to show you how beautifully they work together!
