There are a few hidden gems at your local grocery and warehouse clubs that I think often go unnoticed. One of those is the florist.
Sure, it’s great to pick up a $6.99 bouquet for a nice dinner or as a great hostess gift. In fact, I think most of us use the grocery florist as an impulse buy, but did you ever consider that they could do more for you?
When planning my wedding, I was really trying to keep costs low, but quality high. One day, my fiancée (now husband) and I noticed how gorgeous the Sam’s Club flowers were. We made a comment to the attendant who was working there. It was then that we found out that you can actually order in flowers! Who knew?
Within a few days, we noticed that our local Kroger had some different flowers, but they were equally as fresh and beautiful. Again, we asked about ordering what we needed and were told that with a few days notice – it’s no problem!
Luckily, for our wedding, my friends and family were crafty enough that we could arrange all of our own bouquets and arrangements. If you aren’t gifted in that way, don’t fear €“ a vase with a colorful bouquet of flowers goes a long way at an event and can bring just as much impact!
Look in your grocery’s weekly flyer to see what’s on sale. Although the stores rarely offer floral coupons, they do offer promotional deals. For example, this week at Kroger, you can get 2 dozen long-stemmed roses for $10. At HEB, a wildflower bouquet is $12.99. The website for Sam’s Club even lists their bulk floral prices now €“ plus they are an Ebates member, so you can get cash back!
