It’s funny to me that every year regardless of how well planned out my April and May are – they turn into complete and utter chaos. From Easter until the last day of school, I might as well throw caution to the wind. Nothing will go as I anticipate.

Last week, I commented on Facebook at how it seems that everything to do with school is held the last 5 weeks that they are in session. Musicals, awards presentations, meetings for next year are all on our agenda in the next three weeks. It’s during these times that I am so thankful that I work with supervisors that are sensitive to the needs of my family and that I am given the grace to attend the things that occur during the day. I’m always so sad for the kids who have parents that don’t show up. As a dual-income family, that could easily be our children.

And, with all of this, comes spring fever. On my part and with the kids. Is it genetic or just a force of nature that happens when the days consistently hit 85 degrees and it doesn’t get dark until almost 9pm.

So, if I’m a little scatter-brained (more than usual) or seem to be missing – just know that I’m around. You can find me at work or in the gymnasium of the school. I’ll be surrounded by the other 1,800 parents that are also wishing the next 5 weeks away!
