Let me begin by saying, I am NOT a museum person. They normally bore me to tears and I can think of a million other, more interesting things, that I would like to do with my time.

… that is until I visited the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

Several people at work had recommended it to our family and when my mom and aunt came for a visit, it seemed like a fun thing to do with “out-of-towners”. I crossed my fingers and held my breath … trying to have a good attitude about a museum. And, knowing full well that I would kill my coworkers if this museum wasn’t all they had made it out to be.

It was wonderful. There was something for all of us to see. The kids had a great time seeing the dinosaur bones and learning about energy. There was a good amount of Texas-specific stuff to see, feel, and touch which is nice for us since we aren’t Texas natives.

My favorite part was the Gem exhibit. Diamonds are a girls best friend, of course 🙂 And, as a negative Nelly when it came to museums, I can honestly say that I was in love all the way through this place. I even debated buying a family membership! That’s saying a lot for me.
