These gas prices are out of control. I nearly fainted on Saturday when I filled up my car. I was chatting with a girlfriend, not paying attention to the numbers on the pump … until it reached full. I hung up the phone and went back to put the pump away and the cap back on. It was at that point that I nearly fainted … $72.66.

Here’s what has helped me since then. I’m completely planning my week. Not only is this great for saving gas, it’s actually getting me a little more organized at the start of my week!

My challenge to you: write down every place you know that you’ll be driving this week. Grocery stores, drug stores, children’s activities, church, work, post office, etc. Map out and plan how you can combine those places into less trips. For me, I’m stopping at the drug store on my way to work. I normally don’t do my drug store shopping until the weekend, but it’s actually on my way to work and I can save a complete trip by doing it early. That’s something I normally wouldn’t even think about.

What other ways are you trying to save on fuel? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
