Tis the season for pumpkin patches and fall fun. As much as I love summer, I do love the smells of fall … and to be completely honest, it means that I’m one step closer to Christmas – my absolute favorite time of the year!
If you have ever just happened upon a fall festival, you know that it can be draining on the pocketbook. Here are some tips to help you enjoy the day and make your dollar go a little further:
1. Call ahead and ask about a group discount. Some places consider a group 8-10 people. If you can find another family that wants to go the same day as you, take advantage of the lower admission prices.
2. Ask if you can bring in outside food/drink. Sometimes the biggest hit to the wallet happens at the concession stand. Bring your own food if possible. If not, go before or after lunch.
3. Set a spending limit for your family. Decide what you will buy before you step inside. Are you leaving with a pumpkin? Will everyone have the opportunity to purchase something? If so, how much are they allotted? Decide all of this before you step inside!
