I love organization and I love when it helps me do things quickly. One of my favorite and most used organizational tools is a hanging two-level sweater shelf. (Mine is from Target.)

These come in various sizes, but since I have two kids – I only needed two levels. One level is for Piper and one is for Avery.

Each day when the kids bring papers home from school, I take them from their backpacks and place them on the appropriate shelf.

When the shelves become full (which is usually around Christmas and again at the end of school), I look at each individual sheet and decide what to keep and what to throw away.

The papers that I keep go into a Rubbermaid tub. I chose clear so that I can easily see what’s inside. I label the end with the child’s name and grade. I decided to pay a little more to go with Rubbermaid because they tend to keep the same styles & if I’m going to have many of these, I’d really like for them to match.

At some point, I’m sure that I’ll consolidate down from even one per year. I’m thinking a Kinder-3rd grade tub, 4th-6th grade tub, etc. But, for now, this works for me and keeps the paper clutter from infesting the house on a daily basis.
