Rainchecks are a great item that most every store offers, but many forget or don’t know that they are an option.
You can ask for a raincheck anytime an item is out of stock. Rainchecks ensure that the present day price will be honored once the item becomes “in stock” again.
During this time of year, rainchecks are great to have. If you are looking at bedding or furniture for a college dorm, and the item happens to go on sale – you could potentially drive all over the city to find that they are all gone! One quick (well, hopefully quick) trip to the customer service desk will secure your price when the item becomes available again.
It’s not just the big box stores and offer and honor rainchecks, the grocery and drug stores do as well. If your favorite shampoo is sold out, get a raincheck. Are the $1 cantaloupes gone? Get a raincheck. Those school supplies that are marked down to a nickel and are normally 50-cents €“ grab a raincheck!
Here’s what you need to know:
1. Bring all the info you can to the customer service desk. Brand, size, color, price you need honored. If it happens to be in a sale ad, that’s a great tool to have, but not necessary.
2. If it isn’t clearly noted on the raincheck when you receive it, ask if there is an expiration date.
3. Put the raincheck somewhere safe 🙂 That probably goes without saying, but I’ll admit to misplacing one or two in my day.
Don’t miss out on a great product just because you weren’t there when they loaded the shelf €¦ and remember, there’s no cents in paying full price! Ask for a raincheck ESPECIALLY when the item is on sale!
